Turn about is fair play
On 07-02-2021 as I looked at the date I noticed that the numbers [0220] were reversible. I heard the Lord say to my spirit, “Turnabout is fair play.” I have heard this saying before but I didn't know its origin. So I looked it up.
The definition originated in the mid-1700's in reference to gaming, taking turns ensures a fair game. idioms.thefreedictionary.com says, “to reverse the situation between two persons or groups, especially so as to gain the upper hand. This term comes from the custom of reversing the table or board in games like chess, so that the opponents relative positions are switched.
I was then brought to the book of Esther, chapter 9, which is the only reference I could find in that apple of “turn about” .
…“On this day the enemies of the Jews had hoped to overpower them, but now [the tables were turned and the Jews got the upperhand] over those who hated them… No one could stand against them, because the people of all the other nationalities were afraid of them. 3 And all the nobles of the provinces, the satraps, the governors and the kings administrators helped the Jews because fear of Mordecai was prominent in the palace; his reputation was spread throughout the provinces, and he became more and more powerful.
…The king said to Esther, “The Jews have killed and destroyed 500 menand the 10 sons of Haman the citadel of Susa. What have they done in the rest of the king's provinces? Now what is your petition? It will be given you. What is your request? It will also be granted. “
It is time for the people of the LORD to make their petitions known to their King of king's. THe Lord is turning the enemies plans to our vantage point so that we can overtake him. Ask the Lord to show you how to “turn the tables” on your tormentors. You will be able to see from their vantage point and the Lord will reveal to you their next move. Be bold and step out in faith. Trust the Lord to show up in your circumstances and turn the game around in your favor.
Heavenly Father, Blessed is your name. The whole earth is your's and the fullness thereof. THank you for the insight you are giving to your children to overcome the enemy, and take back ground he has stolen from us. We step out in faith and trust that you are meeting us on the field of battle as we stretch out our tent pegs and take more ground for your Kingdom Jesus, for your glory Lord.
